Soi Books Goes To Photo London 2023: Highlights and Impressions

Photo London 2023 proved to be an extraordinary source of inspiration, showcasing a plethora of remarkable galleries that left us in awe. The event allowed us to witness the diverse directions photographers are taking, offering us a glimpse into the ever-evolving world of visual art. As we ventured through the exhibition, several highlights stood out, leaving a lasting impact on our creative perspective.

One of the main highlights was our visit to the Empty Circle gallery, where we encountered the captivating diptychs of Adolfo Doring. Doring, known for his background as a documentary film and music video director, seamlessly translated his storytelling expertise into striking visual compositions.

Our exploration continued at the Michael Hoppen Gallery, where we immersed ourselves in the mesmerizing works of Masahisa Fukase. The depth and emotion captured within his photographs of everyday life left an indelible impression. The Tokyo-based Zen Foto Gallery further enriched our experience, introducing us to the wonderful works of Seiji Kurata and other talented photographers. The gallery's collection shed light on the beauty of everyday life and the cultural nuances that define our world.

Lastly, two pieces really stood out. The work of Jeff Cowen who exhibited courtesy of the Willas Gallery and the work of Jean-Vincent Simonet who exhibited with Messums London.
