Samantha Radaza. Street Focus Photography

South-East Asia is so rich in culture and is very diverse. Each country has a unique way of doing things, of traversing daily life, and yet, there are also shared experiences that connect these places and the people that inhabit them. Through street photography, we see both those shared experiences and the nuances that set one place apart from another.

It has always been a dream to pursue photography but life had a different path for me. I was only able to get a camera of my own 4 years ago when I was an undergrad. I instantly gravitated towards street photography as it helped me relax and improve my focus. From there, I've connected with other photographers whose works I truly admire and it's these conversations that have been pivotal in shaping my understanding and approach in photography.

Currently, my focus really is on the streets. I like the spontaneity of street photography and the challenges that come with the whole process. But I do take casual portraits from time to time, mostly friends and family.

Filipino photographer Samantha Radaza is based between Manila and the island of Leyte. Check out more of her work HERE.
