Remi Rough x Soi Books: A Limited Edition That Goes Beyond the Book

There’s limited, and then there’s this.
We’re close to releasing a new collector’s edition with Remi Rough — and it might be the most hands-on project we’ve ever done.

It’s an artist-made book in the most literal sense:

  • 50 copies only

  • Each one hand-painted by Remi himself

  • Each cover is a different canvas

  • No reprints. No reruns. Ever.

This isn’t just a book drop. It’s a moment. And once it’s gone, it’s gone.

Not Just a Book — 50 Artworks Disguised as Books

The covers weren’t printed. They were created. One by one. In Remi’s studio. By hand.

It’s rare to see an artist treat publishing this personally but that’s exactly what happened. These covers sit somewhere between abstract painting and collectible object. Inside, the book goes deep into Remi’s world, his past, his evolution drawing from over 30 years of work, process, and visual evolution.

It’s colourful, minimal, bold — everything you’d expect from Remi, just printed and bound.

(If you missed our recent studio visit with Remi Rough, it’s a great place to get a feel for the energy behind this release.)

Why Only 50?

We’ve been thinking a lot about the value of limited editions in art publishing.
How books can be more than books. How scarcity, when done right, can elevate both the object and the experience.

This edition couldn’t — and shouldn’t — exist at scale. In fact this is something we will be doing more of - creating collectibles for those that want it Every book takes time. It takes touch, care and consideration. That’s why we kept it tight. You can read more of our thoughts on that here.

Each copy is signed, numbered, and comes with a certificate of authenticity.

About Remi Rough

Remi Rough (b. 1971, London) is one of the UK’s leading abstract artists, known for blending the energy of graffiti with the precision of geometric abstraction. Starting out painting South London trains in the early ’80s, his work has evolved into bold, architectural compositions that draw on rhythm, colour, and structure. He’s exhibited worldwide — from Tokyo and Berlin to Dallas and Hong Kong — and created large-scale murals and installations including Morning Dynamics at Art Basel HK and the Ghost Village in Scotland. This project with Soi Books is his first artist book with fully handmade covers — turning each copy into a rare, one-off piece.

About Soi Books

We make books that don’t play by the rules. From sticker culture (Stickerbomb) to skate decks to collectible editions like this one, Soi Books is all about giving artists the space to create something that lasts — and feels personal.

This is one of our boldest projects yet. And we’re just warming up.
